Team Dignitas have signed support player Adrian "Adrian" Ma and AD carry Johnny "Altec" Ru to their League of Legends roster, and have transferred their former support Alex "Xpecial" Chu to Phoenix1.
“Our goal is to continue to grow and improve as a team,” Dig coach David “Cop” Roberson said in a press release. “We believe these changes help to strengthen our line-up during our push to qualify for the World Championships. Adrian and Altec will both bring high level skills and experience to our team.”
Altec was previously signed a substitute to FlyQuest, and was that team’s starting AD carry during the spring split. Adrian was last signed to Team Liquid, but his contract was cancelled in April 2017 when the organization chose to stick with Matt “Matt” Elento. According to the press release, both players are “joining” Dig’s current bottom lane duo of Terry “Big” Chuong and Bejamin “LOD” DeMunck, though it is unclear if they will be relegated to substitutes for future games.
Xpecial joined Dignitas in September when the organization was acquired by the Philadelphia 76ers along with Apex Gaming. Xpecial was Apex’s staring support prior to the acquisition.
“So far this split we have not lived up to our expectations or goals for this season,” P1 wrote in a statement on Facebook. “We recognize that something needs to change to turn our season around, so we are very excited to announce Alex “Xpecial” Chu will be joining our roster beginning this Sunday against CLG. Xpecial brings a wealth of veteran experience that will be a huge benefit to our team.”
Dignitas are currently 3-1 in the NA LCS, and are set to play Phoenix1 and Echo Fox this weekend. Phoenix1 is sitting in last place in the NA LCS standings with an 0-4 record.
