Priyanka Chopra apologizes over ‘Quantico’ episode


There was fast backlash relating to the “The Blood of Romeo” episode of the favored drama, which stars Priyanka Chopra as former FBI/CIA agent Alex Parrish.

Chopra, who’s Indian, is the primary Bollywood actress to land a number one position in a prime-time American tv present.

On Saturday, she tweeted an apology concerning the episode.

“I am extraordinarily saddened and sorry that some sentiments have been damage by a latest episode of Quantico,” the tweet learn. “That was not and would by no means be my intention. I sincerely apologise. I am a proud Indian and that can by no means change.”

ABC had earlier issued an announcement in response to the criticism.

“ABC Studios and the chief producers of Quantico want to lengthen an apology to our viewers who have been offended by the latest episode, ‘The Blood of Romeo.’ The episode has stirred numerous emotion, a lot of which is unfairly aimed toward Priyanka Chopra, who did not create the present, nor does she write or direct it,” the assertion learn. “She has no involvement within the casting of the present or the storylines depicted within the sequence.”

The assertion went on so as to add that “‘Quantico’ is a piece of fiction.”

“The present has featured antagonists of many various ethnicities and backgrounds, however on this case we inadvertently and regrettably stepped into a fancy political subject,” the assertion concluded. “It was actually not our intention to offend anybody.”

The storyline of the episode, which aired June 1, revolved round a plot hatched by Hindus forward of a summit and angered many followers.

“That total episode was not simply an assault on Hindus but in addition an assault on India,” one individual tweeted. “Peddling Pakistani agenda that Indians make elaborate plots to border Pakistan. Disgrace on @priyankachopra for even pondering such a storyline was acceptable.”
