Trump launches new tariffs on China

Commerce Consultant Robert Lighthizer on Tuesday launched a listing of further items that might face 10% tariffs after a public remark interval. It consists of seafood, fruit and greens, yarn, wool, rain jackets and baseball gloves.

The transfer comes after the US imposed tariffs on Chinese language items value $34 billion final Friday. Beijing instantly responded with its personal tariffs on US items value $34 billion.

Tuesday’s motion makes good on a risk President Donald Trump made final month, when he directed Lighthizer to establish $200 billion in Chinese language items for tariffs if China retaliated in opposition to US penalties meant to punish China for mental property theft.
